Kwaito star Mandoza's talent was shut down by death




South Africa citizens are mourning as they have lost their kwaito legend on Sunday midday.  Mdududzi Edmund Tshabalala who is well known as Mandoza passed away after a long battle brain cancer which was leading him to lose his sight at the age of 38. His death was confirmed by the family spokesperson that he passed away.  Mandoza was well known Kwaito star not in South Africa but also in Africa. It was also confirmed that he has been taking treatment since 2015.

His Nkalakatha album went gold and many people now him through that album. The song was played in South African radio and Zimbabwe. Many people in Zimbabwe know kwaito music through him. Since he was confirmed dead many radio station across the country have been playing his song Nkalakatha to honour his memory. Mandoza last bye to the nation was when he performed last Saturday in Soweto for Thank you Concert in honour of SABC for playing 90% of local music in their radio station.

The president of South Africa sent his condolences to Tshabalala’s family while they are mourning. “South Africa has lost one of its pioneers, who are appealed to a cross section of our people, young and old was known to have unique crossover culturally to be enjoyed by both black and whites South African. It is a great loss to the nation and we wish to extend our deepest condolences to his family and hordes of fans. Mandoza will be sorely missed .May his soul rest in peace “said President Jacob Zuma.

Mandoza’s son in the TV interview with SABC hours his dad died said that he is happy that his father died as a proud man because he had everything he wanted in life. He left his wife and children and the condolences messages are coming through from across the world . Many of his fan couldn't believe it when the news was all over social network that he is no more. The nation is still waiting for the family as Mandoza's memorial service was held at Ellis Park Stadium in Johannesburg.

Fans , high profile people and supporters gathered to honour Mandoza in his public memorial services to share the memories they heard with Kwaito legend. The entire family attended the memorial service including Mandoza's wife Mpho .Mandoza's former manager  Vaughan Eaton  described him as a true professional who respected people. "He respected all the individuals in his creative team , he knew where to fit in and concentrated on his craft ,he loved to perform said Eaton. 

 Many people praised Mpho as the pillar of Mandoza's strength. She was described as strong and supporting wife to her late husband. Mandoza's uncle who was interviewed day before the memorial service said that as the family they have  accepted his death and they are trying to come to terms with it .

Mandoza will be laid to rest on Friday (23 September 2016) at Westpark Cemetery after the funeral service at Grace Bible Church in Soweto which starts at 8  am.
